WarningPossible brake problems

During my usual post trackday checkover I just happened to spot a strange scratch mark on the O/S driveshaft and on further inspection found a corresponding mark and slight dent/wear mark on the brake line immediatly above it.
On first inspection you would not think it possible for the two to meet as the brake line is pretty well up against the chassis rail BUT it does seem to have happened (I have bent the brake line out of the way now)
Lowered suspension and Brands Paddock bend are the likely culprits but suggest you all check before its too late.

I think Martin & Steve will need to replace a bit of the line when fitting the new rotary engine!!!

Rotary engine? Have I missed something?

Probaby all a load of Wank .el …

lol … couldn’t resist !!!

Ps… these baby’s guzzle !!

Interesting post Clive.

The very first trackday I did in my Exige was actually 3 days at the Nurburgring …

I destroyed the front wheel arch liners and also caught the drivers side drive shaft on the hard brake pipe that was just a bit lower than the subframe.

Complained to the dealer, who sold me a set of new liners and moved the brake line FOC, adding some grease to it, no doubt to help the driveshaft spin on it… thank god they dont exist anymore …

Anyhow, relocated it myself eventually - so I think its quite common !

That is a bit scary, is it the same on the S2?

Fine on mine from what I can tell, but a worthwhile thing to check thanks Clive.

Looks like one of those things where Lotus just didn’t give it quite as much clearance as it could have used.
