Yes I know it is surprising, but times are hard for all of us
I need to do the front brake pads and bleed the brake fluid, I have a suitable jack and axle stands. So if I jack the car up on the front jacking point, where do I put the axle stand?
In the passenger footwell as you drive it to
Eh ?
Are you serious ?
I knew nobody was going to believe me, I am completely serious plus I actually want to do it, someone help?
Put the jack under the centre jacking point and raise the whole side of the car then place the axle stand under the jacking point.

I do one side at a time though.
And loosen your wheelnuts first !!
never thought of jacking the rear to put the front on stands, and thanks for the advise to undo the wheels first
I’ll probably get flamed for this in the name of ‘elf and safety’ but if I’m just changing brake pads, I don’t even bother with axle stands (provided you have a decent hydraulic jack that is !!)
Loosen wheel nuts, jack the whole side up, and you’re done in 5 mins.
Front brakes can be bled before you do the pads through the wheels.
I need to swap over a few other bits as well so I really need the front end off the floor for a while hence the axle stands otherwise I would just have done as you suggest and ignored elf and safety
Jack up one side ,place suitable block under front end of chassis rail.
Repeat for other side…you then have both front wheels off the ground and depending on your jack height you can have some reasonable height to save grovelling on your knees.
I accept NO responsibility for bent chassis !!
