Autotorque

Word of warning about Autotorque!

If they’ve sold you a policy with free trackday cover, don’t bother trying to use it because they will charge you for the privilege!

I renewed my policy with Autotorque on the proviso that I had free trackday cover, seems I don’t. The reason I renewed with Autotorque and paid the comparatively higher premium is so I could have free trackday cover. This smacks of Autotorque mis-selling me an insurance policy!

Make sure you get it in black and white that you have free trackday cover.

Bunch of charlatans!

When you renewed did you have track-day cover in writing? I can’t imagine they could back out of that… but in my last renewals with them track day cover wasn’t included.

I’m goona check all the documentation over the weekend, I’m sure I’ve got it in black and white somewhere…

R U Sure??? - I did 2 (only yes I know) last year. Phoned them about each one and had no probs?

I think my cover included 3 or 5 free ones - I’ll check my docs if a get a mo’

I understood a couple of days were available but then they told me it wasn’t available unless you’d done some driver instruction (But then they told me a few things that later proved to be inaccurate) so I cdn’t be bothered to pursue it. I I’m still somewhat disappointed with them

Maybe just call them as they might have been forced to change underwriter and those bastards might have forced Autotorque to change TnC’s

ah yes I had to go through that crap.

I had a few laps instruction at croft - the first track day. So they accepted the promise of traing then proof I had it

I also reeled off the list of cars I have owned (mainly RWD) and that did the trick.

I must admit I did start getting tense till they sorted it out.

cheers

Simon

Herbie - are you sure you are correct? Do you have your insurance docs? If they quoted you over the phone then sent you the docs, you must have checked them? If they didn’t include trackdays you should have rung them up to query it - a mistake either way would have given them a chance to re-issue docs with trackdays included or you to decide to seek cover elsewhere.

Not sure you should go name-calling unless you have been down the diplomatic route first

You’ve obviously never dealt with Autotorque before

I don’t think that’s fair.
I’ve dealt with Autotorque for the past 4 years and it’s always been good.
There may be some things to clarify once in a while but a phone call normally sorts these out.

In my case, your experience won’t make me think twice about renewing with them. Makes me think yours though was a special case or you’re taking things for granted and assuming…

Ditto my experience with them as well.

Usually takes a phone call to sort things.

I’d had very decent (& cheap) service from Autotorque until recently. now it turns out I was mis-informed on some issues (regarding mods) and had to cancel the policy half way through, not had my refund yet, and times moving on. I’m not at blood boiling point by any means but, if I don’t get a cheque soon I may have to raise my voice!

The office spoke to me about this last week. I was under the impression that you thought you could get free trackday cover mid term when you hit the age of 30?? Perhaps you can call me on Monday and maybe we can try help etc. I dont think we would knowingly mislead you in anyway.
