autotorque - any info?

I renewed my insurance for my Exige two weeks ago with Autotorque, but have just received a phone call from the insurers (Aon) this afternoon to say that they had not received my renewal. The cost has been charged to my credit card, but not passed through to the insurers. Looks like I am going to have to pay again. (Good news is that the premium is 50 cheaper going direct).

I’m now trying to contact my credit card company to register a disputed charge and see if they can refund it, otherwise I will try the Financial Services Comnpensation Service on 2027 892 7300 which is detailed on my renewal quote from Autotorque.

Good job you paid with a credit card, just file a Section 75 refund, the CCard company insure against this loss.

Sadly, apparently not always the case when a broker is involved.

If you buy off Amazon Marketplace you are apparently not covered by your CC.

Shouldn’t be an issue of trying to claim company money (which we know they don’t have).

As Autotorque (Capital Insurance Services Ltd) were regulated by the FSA, compensation for any monetary loss should still be available through the Financial Services Compensation Scheme but only once the liquidation process is complete …

If you drive a high performance/classic car*, I would suggest speaking with Matt Taylor (Henderson Taylor) on 0161 437 7442.

So would I! Matthew is a great guy and gave a great quote (20% less than AON) which includes some Euro trackday cover. Nice!
