automatic locks

Due to lack of use I have had to replace the battery, no problems there. However I now find I cant get the doors to lock.

The lights flash and can hear the lock trying to move, the button does ‘bob’ a little but stays in the up position.

Is there a re-set proceedure. I’ve done a search on here and on seloc but not come up with anything.

There’s no reset procedure in the workshop manual. Do they lock when the engine’s running using the switch next to the gearlever? It could be a voltage thing??

Tried the ‘interior central door locking’ switch with car running and not…just the same, sounds as if its locking, little jump of the buttons but not going down. I can push the buttons down, they do not pop up. Got to book service so I’ll have to put it on list of things to check/do.

Sorry to say this sounds like the control unit has gone. Mine did similar recently and the symptoms you describe are spot on.

The good news is the parts are only about 35, the bad news is its 2-3 hours labour to get to the damn thing as its hidden inside the dash.

According to the info I had it’s a very easy DIY job and I would have done it myself but mine was (just) under warranty. If not I think you’re looking at a few hundred quid to get it sorted.

If you go the DIY route PM me as I have some diagrams of it somewhere.

Ah, yes the notorious CDL module, forgot about that one.

Is this the one where you shouldn’t bother trying to remove the old one and just stick a new one on top?

Thanks for the help guys, I can live without the central locking. Just having to get used to using the key! Might give Junks a ‘heads up’ and see if he can help, might give it a go myself, cant be anymore difficult than replacing the brake pads can it?

Can’t be that difficult, can it? Famous last words

Might give Junks a ‘heads up’

It is his wife’s birthday today after all SELOC Forums

PS Hope you get the locks sorted, Amanda
