Automatic door locking ?

I have just received my 2006 Exige
I would like that after I drive away my doors close automatically (with the central locking)
Can the CPU be programmed to do this ?
Thanks to everyone for their input

MacFever, i dont actually know but as the they are controlled by the alarm, which is seperate fom the ecu i presume you cant. However im sure a company was marketing a system where they added a black box so the first time you hit the brakes it locked your car, was a couple of years ago though.

if you find the answer I’d love to know… its something i’ve been looking to get for ages

Why?

Carjacking fear?

Cheers, Ian

no… auto locking AFTER i’ve got out and walked off…

i’m forgetful like that, see?

just press the small buton on the gear lever shroud to lock all doors once you drive away.
its hardly any effort

must … program … right … hand …

Actually I think he means after he “walks” away. Next’ll be an electric top

will go well with my air con and parking sensors

Exige boy, in theory you could get a 12v timer circuit linked to the ignition and central locking switch so that so many sec after loss of ign live they trigger the central locking via a relay.

Not wanting to start a war…but…you S2 chaps talk about this, and on the S1 threads its about what length of broomhandle is best to prop open the engine cover - sort of sums up the difference between the two groups

15 - love

I think you’ll find us S2 owners dont have to spend as much time with our bonnets open so we can amuse ourselves with the finer details

…unless you try and supercharge it

you keeping a count of how many are lunching themselves?

what with the summer lining up to be SCORCHIO i’m sitting pretty in my S2 with ICE COLD air con

now see…you are off again on something that is totally unrelated to what an Exige is really all about - driving

I think you loose the whole game for that

Oh and I was hoping we were heading towards a fifth set

you keeping a count of how many are lunching themselves?

AFAIK, none yet… that weren’t SC’d by Lotus themselves.

Of course, on this side of the water, that means we’ve got one good one out of a total of one… so far.

You know of some that are having issues?

hmmmm… cabin temperature = driver comfort = driver pleasure = what driving is all about…

game set and match

Right, mac fever and exige boy, all you both need is a delay on timer eg cpc hk00265. This can be set to wait a time then engage a relay. If the timer was set to wait eg 5 sec then the relay was set to hold for 1 second and the contacts wired across the door locking switch (presuming it remains live when the ignition is off) it would auto lock the doors.
Macfever, you would just have to power it off the ignition live and neutral, hey presto.
Exige boy you could wire it +ve to permenant live feed and -ve to switch live. In theory when the igniton is switched off the ign live will act as a neutral and trigger the timer. A fe seconds after the doors lock!
