It’s not like the press to misinform everyone is it ?..
Why do car mags do this?
I went to view a car after it was the subject of a feature in a Classic Car mag…the write up was utter and total b@llocks!
After sending an invoice to the editor for my expenses, he told me that the contributor who wrote the article was alledgedly taking bungs from the selling Dealers to write ‘up’ the car!
Autocar & Auto Express are the tabloids of the motoring press. Just treat them accordingly…
Two examples (paraphrased slightly, but you get the idea)
‘New Lotus Exige set to smash Audi TT’ - Autocar 2000.
‘New M250 on the road’ (c/w photo to prove it) - Auto Express. The only one anyone saw was made of wood. And clay. With a plastic engine.
How they get these mags from proof to print I’ll never know, as all the pages must surely be stuck together.
Tim.
I actually bought this weeks Autocar to read the ‘First Drive’ of the Exige S…as advertised on the front of the mag, but was the article in there, was it b@llocks, so ive written to the editor asking for a refund!

What you mean you missed the Autocar first drive…don’t blame you…it’s on page 65 in the bottom right hand corner. I picked the mag up saw the front cover ‘first drive exige s’…what a load of . I’m with you on this one Bertone. In typical Autocar fashion some of the pics of the cars in half price heroes aren’t even the right cars.
