My trusted Fiesta station car is gone past its sell by date, but I no longer have to park at the station so I can replace it with a better car
So I asked my friend (Audi salesman) to try to find me an A3 TDi, I wanted an S Line but was not too bothered about the other spec.
He has found me an S Line TDi on an 06 but it is S Tronic DSG.
So is it any good?
Reliable?
Effect the economy much?
Just all the usual questions as too if I sould get that or wait for a manual?
Ta
I have an A3 TDI S-Line Sportback but its a manual.
There is a couple of different oil burners. The much older 1.9L and the more modern 2L. The 2L comes in two power outputs I beleive a 140 and a 170BHP. I have the more powerful 2L quattro and it is OK. It will return 40mpg on a long journey and low 30’s around town (but that’s with me hoofing it around the whole time).
It’s quick enough, comfy, nice BOSE wireless, just about enough space for kids etc but quite anodyne. When I move and have a bit more space on the drive I’m musing over an E39 M5 or an RS4 as replacement.
I have the box in the Scirocco, nice bit of kit BUT doubt I would buy one going out of warranty, they can be prone to issues and to repair.
Hey Ben, you can get an E60 M5 for 25k now. I’m tempted.
Sorry, gone off topic. I liked the DSG in the Scirroco, less so in the recent hire Octavia diesel, much slower shifts, better than a normal auto I thought though.
