Attn Mr Admin
Hi

Whereabouts in the NW are you?
As Damon says im a Cheshire lad, from the Wirral to be precise.

A little bit about me:-

I have a Lotus Exige 240 Cup No.26 of 50, which Im gradually developing into a fantastic track car with a few choice mods.

I’ve been involved in motorsport and track days, etc… for the last 7 years or so. I’ve an Automotive Engineering degree and do chassis and suspension setup work for a couple of motorsport teams. I instruct for Red Letter type experience companies, and also do private tuition. I haven’t found a forum rules section(?) so don’t want to expand on this anymore and end up upsetting anyone!

Im looking forward to contributing to the forum and meeting some of you on track days soon.

Cheers,
Sean

Sean the forum is member-moderated…

We keep a good sense of fun and any over commercial or trolling activity is dealt with by gentle banter till the offender gets the message.

Keep things positive and not over the top and you’ll be fine.

Excellent! I like the sound of that.

And if you really get out of hand you’llend up in The Muppet Show, the best control tool I’ve seen on any forum.

Hi Sean, welcome. I’m also from the Wirral so might bump into you at some point.

Graham.

You mean see him in your S1 rear view mirror mate!

As he is coming up to overtake for the 4th time?

Ha! Yes there were two 240’s at Oulton on the 30th and they were very courteous and moved over to let me pass

Good to hear all that, I too have a cup 240 No 26 on the plate but I thought they built more than 100 of this model. I would be interested to know if anyone has the difinitive number of cup 240 and 255 cars built. I think they only built 50 of the Cadena {spelling?} cars. Does anyone out there know?

Sorry mine is No 46 on the plate !!!

I was just about to say mines no. 26!!!

They made 50, 240 cup cars.

Hi Graham, whereabouts on the Wirral?

Who do you use for servicing and work on your Exige?

Sean

Back to the question I raised is there anyone who can contact Mr. Admin?
Any “member” can contact him via pm. David hosts this site f-o-c with the minimum of interference, & he has total control of membership approval/moderation etc.

Personally, the last thing I want is for this forum to end up like any other, ie with “commitees/moderators” - only leads to trouble/dissagreement.

Unlike other forums, exiges.com can be viewed by anyone, & over 10 years, “self moderation” has worked extremely well. Mr Admin has had to use his sole discretion on a very small number of occasions - some of his decisions I dissagreed with, but I was more than happy to accept them, without any complaint.

The site started off as being an invaluable source of information, & collective help to the original owners of S1s, who had in the main, bought them to use extensively on track.(Many not having owned an Elise previously). A search through the archives will answer just about every question, which continue to be raised. There cannot be a better resource of S1 info anywhere. From day one, the site has been a friendly place to visit, with the added bonus of loads of mickey taking, & socialising, especially at trackdays.

Inevitably, the launch of the S2 was/still is a catalyst of friendly banter, but also brought many more peeps into Exige ownership - many who were previous owners of Elises, & already members of the likes of Seloc. Whilst exiges.com is a good source of info on the S2, Seloc is also excellent in that respect.

Sorry for the waffle - just thought it may help with the understanding of where we are today.
Here here! I seem to remember our esteemed benefactor once likening Exiges.com to the corner of a pub. Sounds about right.
