I seem to have discovered a product that removes the clag following use in the wet. I’ll confirm over the weekend but the signs are looking very positive for a very low effort removal solution. You can thank me all later…when I’ve negotiated UK exclusivity mwhahahah
VERY interested
Fairy Liquid?
Yeah try cleaning yer 22" spinners covered in PF Clag with Fairy Liquid and see how you go…your hands will be nice and soft though
Wonder Wheels???
Sulphuric acid???
The wife?
Be interested to hear as my wheels are still knackered bordering needing a refurb. I found a chisel was just about the only thing having exhausted my chemical cupboard at work and home.
I must say I use wonder wheels on mine after a track day and it shifts rs 14 clag no problem, normally I use the megs non acid stuff with a soft brush which works ok.
Boothy
Wonder wheels seemed to work good for mine too - only ever cleaned them once since I switched to PF though!
Yes guys the problem is specific to use of PF in the wet. The dust mixes with the water and forms a kind of lava that welds itself to the hot wheel. If you don’t clean it off relatively quickly and it’s allowed to bake on then not even Wonder Wheels comes close to shifting it. You have to chip it off with a screwdriver/chisel
This was AFTER jet wash, wonder wheels, oven cleaner etc
Great pads just a shame about the dust.
Only seems to happen when they are new, old pads in the wet are fine, I think it is something to do with the early bed in soft bit at the start of the pad
i have some swarfega grease remover that i got from screwfix, 5 litre tub that i decant into a spray bottle, it’s really very good.

Ben… dont worry.
The new PF pads produce more dust but it is white dust!
Well I reckon it works so I’m gonna recommend it. It seems to act as a solvent to the PF Clag and after two treatments to a nasty looking post Anglesey front wheel…snowy white restored No chipping away at it with a chisel/screwdriver…result
The product is from a UK company called Spautopia and the product is called Restore.
They also have a wheel protector product that I’ve bought too to apply once they’re all clean.
Please nobody think I’m into ‘detailing’ or prefer to be polishing over driving but anybody who has used PF pads and wants to continue using them will I’m sure appreciate that there is an effective product out there.
Ordered. Worth a go if it gets the crud off before I can get them repolished and back to some resemblance of a “finish” as opposed to sandblasted!
Cheers
Also ordered, nice one Ben!
Nice one Ben, you little wash and waxer, you!
Feck off
