Hi guys,ok ok i love top gear but 2nite fifth gear with the very dopey vicki butler henderson puts an exige s against a caterham,at least thats what the write up says, much rather clarkson did it ,long live the king, but bound to be good anyhow . hope you enjoy

Thanks for the heads up…but are you serious about Clarkson
Sticky Vicky always works for me, but honestly wtf does Clarkson know about cars !!
The man is a buffoon, albeit an entertaining one.

I agree, he is good fun, but in terms of a proper car analysis - I just wish that 5th Gear would get Nedell to do these more interesting comparisons.
Personally I think 5th gear should be shot for giving Vicky an Exige again, I mean just look what happened the last time she had one .

Right i started this whole thing off so ill gladly explain myself, the chemistry between richard the hamster and clarkson and the inevitable may is far more than vicky has even between her ears.king clarkson indeed as he constantly refers to our car as THE best handling car in the world, he loves them to bits and so respect is due, dont you think, for a start a wo**n in an exige PLEASE ! i been on the fifth gear website and the s looks good, much rather 1 of the 8 stiggys{straight up}! drove it though, any way sums up i like topgear and i love anything or anyone who appreciates our cars as much as we do. go on vicky give us a good show for gould sake!
Bloody hell, that Caterham is a beast of a car!!
Is the exige really that mental with the launch control?
2 completely different cars, but I’d be happy with both
nice to see that was.the roof scoop looked well cool and yes wow that launch control!

To be honest, I wasn’t very impressed with the launch control. I was hoping Vikki Butler-Henderson was being ignorant to the fact that you didn’t need to turn the engine off. Otherwise how stupid would you look if at a red light an F430 wants a little race, you switch your engine off trying to switch the launch control on, miss judge it all and the lights turn green, the Ferrari “smokes” you while your trying to turn your engine over.
It all seems a little stupid. Anyone want to put my mind at rest that this isn’t how to activate the launch control?
Also, anyone like how Tom Ford used his BBC (Top Gear magazine) company car on 5th Gear?
That launch was total BS!!! she got it so wrong
VBH did it:-
1.engine off>
2. traction off>
3. foot to floor>
4. engine on…MORON
obviously the engine span up to max revs and all she did was burn out
Done properly (IIRC):-
1.igntiton on>
2. turn off traction control>
3. foot to floor on accel pedal for few seconds>
4. now dial in prefered revs with dial 5-6k>
5. release pedal!!> NOW START THE ENGINE
what she should have then said was
foot flat to floor, revs will ONLY stay at preset value…then release clutch…engine will stay at revs for a few seconds (untill full traction is gained) then spin up the rev range as normal…
see vid…
Thankgod thats how its done…
