At last......

…got on the 6:10 train from cheltenham to Guildford today feeling like a kid on christmas morning!
Arrived at plans at 9:00 to be greeted by the sight of my car being washed in the sunshine.
Went through the formalities with john and got him to adjust the seat for my tiny 5’7" frame(all the way forward)!Showing me how to adjust the harnesses etc… were very fiddly to start with but a few times in and out of the car and you seem to get into a routine.
A couple of issues that still need to be sorted, gas struts missing from boot lid and the new band clamp for the intercooler connection missing, they are going to let me put 1000 miles on the car and have it back for any snagging issues
With the bill paid i set off to first get some fuel, filled up with some bp ultimate and set off again…MIL light on, bugger.Took the car back and john reset the light, seems to be running lean on bank 1 i think he said.Set off for home, rather gingerly as i have’nt really driven it since march it was like starting all over again!
1st impressions are it drives very much like a std s2 exige at pedestrian speeds and you can barely here the supercharger, but floor it and all hell breaks loose, i absolutely love the whine the charger makes
Onto the motorway and the benefit of the extra power and torque is felt immediately when some dozy bmw driving rep twat on a mobile just drifts into my lane and even though i’m in 6th i manage to floor it and avoid a collision(no chance to brake as i had that other knight of the road behind me(cockney white van man)
Getting back towards cheltenham & i had almost forgotten how uncomfortable i found my old seats as the MOG’S are just perfect if not a tad laid back in the seating position, makes the lap part of the harness ride up towards my stomach a bit too much, but that could be down to my body.
Heading down birdlip(very steep hill) and i’m following a couple of hgv’s, in my mirrors i can see a BMW champing at the bit to get past a couple of cars once it goes to 2 lanes, sure he’s angling to pass a little exige, so as it goes to 2 lanes i wait until he forces the 2 cars in front of him to yield and he gets a bit closer, then floor it in 3rd and he’s a speck in the distance in a few seconds!!

To sum up i am very happy with the conversion, which is a good job after what plans & i have been through to get to this point, it’s been in their workshop so long i printed off a large copy of this–

so they won’t miss it too much

John adjusting the seat for me–
