Popped into my old place of work today … on the way back from cn,s …with the Exige ,1st time in 3 years…
Great guys who I used to work with …
Had a strange uncanny feel that I certainly havn’t had before from there …A sort of “them trying to act normal but can,t ?”
Got me thinking (usually a bad thing )
… I’ve noticed this with other people too .from the flying community …
It’s a very eccentric car we drive …but not for attention grabbing purpose … anyone else get the same vibes ?

kind of a two world thing for me, as i two have a lot of local custom.
the through of them seeing me in the exige makes me cringe.
it comes out at the weekend, and only close friend now i own. i drive the van every day, poeple just dont understand car enthusiasm, they just see “loaded”

While I’ve been self employed I have made sure that the companies I work for were unaware of any of the ‘flash’ cars I have owned. I know from previous that it never goes down well as they assume your must be ripping them off to own a nice car - typical british pikey mentality.
Instead of thinking ‘fook me this guy must be busy’ hence very good at what he does they cut you off or try and barter your rates down
I dont even let the staff know I have an exige or they will want a pay rise.
I had a flash Merc and only kept it 6 months because of the comments about it from clients.
One of my friends (owns a cleaning company) suffered with similar and changed his company car from a range rover to a discovery, people then asked if he wasn’t doing very well, he used both for the same thing towing big trailers full of rubbish. strange how 2 cars of similar money can invoke different opinions…
Yep thats exactly how I see it, I always keep the garage door closed when customers are calling (unless they are female and fit obviously) and I would hate to see anyone whilst out in it again, even though the last time could not be avoided.
I’ve been on site in mine a few times, always get the “must be earning too much” quip, i always counter with “nope, just bloody hard work, ive earned it”!
