Apologies to Jeff-Exige owner.

This is just a short note to Jeff to apologise profusely for any upset caused.
My and Naths comments were in no way made to upset you!
They were just an honest relfection of thoughts after seeing the car.
We are both genuine car enthusiasts and in no way would deliberately dis someone elses car.
I hope you will see way to accept my apologies and hope you have luck in selling your Exige.

Not sure why you are apologising…if you have seen the car and feel its not a good example you might have saved some people alot of wasted time and effort in finding it out the hard way.

The guys response might have something to do with his current predicament…(for 250 I’ll give him my name )

As you would expect I second that Jeff. I only gave my honest opinion of your car(when asked) and did not mean in any way to cause you any problems. As said, good luck with your sale and I hope this clears the air.

Thanks

Nathan

I know what you are saying steve, but some times people get the wrong end of the stick and after all we where just trying to help fellow owners! But hope this is sorted now!

Further to my apology above, I would like to say that having only glanced at Jeffs car through locked doors I have absolutely no evidence to substantiate the fact his car is not perfect.

All I saw was a very dirty car and, quite wrongly, automatically assumed the rest of the car followed suit.

I do honestly sincerely regret these comments and any upset this may have caused Jeff during the sale of his vehicle!

Having communicated with Jeff via email he believes that some of the comments were untrue, unsubstantiated, harsh and upsetting to say the least and all I can say is that they were in no way made to cause him any distress.

I shall also be sending Jeff a letter of apology to his home address as this affair has quite obviously upset him.

Once again Jeff, please accept my sincere apologies.

I take it Jeff is built like a brick shithouse

I find it hard to believe that the only reason the cheapest Exige in the country hasn’t sold (for a year now ?) is soley because everyone has been reading Exiges.com

I seem to recall there was previous talk of ‘unproductive’ telephone calls regarding this car. Is that also something that can be cleared up? Can anybody state they’ve had an informative and pleasant call with this trader?

Any which way, still seems like good value for at least a converstion job.

I spoke to Jeff when Jim was thinking of buying his car, the guy couldn’t have been more helpful, spent about 20 minutes talking over the car and e-mailed a load of pictures for me to have a look at, he was even going to bring the car up to Scotland on a trailer for Jim to have a look at, seemed honest and genuine.

with all the free advertising and associated boosted viewing Mr. Admin might be able to charge on-site advertisers and use the money to subsidise the next exiges.com trackday

now also on pistonheads>

“FULL SERVICE HISTORY, A “C” SERVICE HAS JUST BEEN COMPLETED. 10 MONTHS MOT AND 4 MONTHS TAX. A DECAT PIPE WILL ALSO BE SUPPLIED. EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE CAR HAS HAD QUITE A SLAGGING ON www.exiges.com FROM PEOPLE I HAVE NOT EVEN MET. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE, THEY HAVE GIVEN NO FACTS TO THEIR COMMENTS AND HOPEFULLY THEY WILL BE SORTED SOON. I AM CONFIDENT THE CAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WILL HAPPILY DOUBLE ANYONES EXPENSES IF THEY COME TO VIEW THE CAR AND ARE NOT HAPPY. SORRY NO SWOPS AND NO OFFERS, BUT FREE DELIVERY IS NO PROBLEM”

Looking desperate to sell is not in the sellers favour. Taking and demonstrating it on a recent trackday would be.

I had read the [censored] on here and to be honest I am not surprised the guy is pissed off. I also notices Bertone you were on SELOC having a sly dig at the other guy selling his s1, saying something about you not knowing if you`d buy one with accident damage. No need to get involved if you ask me, maybe this will make you think before slagging off / drawing attention to / passing comment or whatever it is you do on cars that are on the market. Good on you for being sound enough to apologise though.

saying something about you not knowing if you`d buy one with accident damage.

Did the vehicle have accident damage ? If so, as a prospective purchaser I would be interested in this kind of information, even if it did put the seller at a disadvantage.

Dave

Yip, he seemed totally fine with me and was confident enough about the car to offer to trailer it up to me in Scotland to look at, and have inspected, with no pressure to buy if I was unhappy in any way. I imagine that I would have bought it had another one not become available at the same time with lower milage.
