hi as i am putting all these parts on to increase induction and inprove my exhurst flow you all say it need the ecu re-mapping before you will see an effect. instead of getting a mappable ec i was wondering if one of these APEXi POWER FC would do the same job as i have seen one been used on the 300bhp NA exige from trial jap. please let me know what you think and if it can be done which model number do i need. and if you want to see the trial exige then check out ShopTs.com is for sale | HugeDomains. thanks guys…
There has been very limited success with piggy bach ECUs. It appears that the self learn in the Lotus ECU causes issues. I don’t know the specifics as all the info I’ve got has been second hand. Frank may be better placed to comment having been through it first hand.
If you have added exhaust and induction and are looking for a remap to release the power then there may be some options with the standard ECU real soon now.
The Power FC is a standalone
The best ECUs are Motec, but dont know if they do one for the Exige. The M800 is the daddy…although expensive, I paid 2700 with a remap for mine (I have a jap car at the mo)!
Yes Motec are very good but you do not need one really on an aspirated 2ZZ-GE
The Power FC works quite well and controls VVT and VVL unlike mosto other solutions which do not. PRoblem is that the Power FC is designed for the Celica and not the Elise and im not sure there is a version for the Lotus. Power FC is also plug and play.
300hp N/A 2zz ? …Where is it I’ll buy it ? No fuuukin way…
The Celica guys I know have great results with the Power FC but to install it on the Lotus is a major pain, you still need the stock ecu to run the cluster…not worth the hassel in my opinion for a N/A setup… give Sector111 a shout, Charlie is the only guy outside the factory that can make changes to the stock ecu that will stick…
On their website is se a 2liter conversion and 230ps
well i know its all in jap but its well worth the look. if anyone knows of where i can get some of the parts from this exige then plase let me know. Tuning Spirit
enjoy and let me know what you think of it.
