During Anglesey developed rear brake judder/grab
Now dismantled and find at least 1/2 mm run out and quite severe grabbing at one part of the rotation.
25mm thickness left so not much wear.
Should I reface or replace.
They are 285 dia with 12 bolts. And stock calipers. Cant find 285 as std size.
anybody running Elise Parts Ali bells and discs??
ok?
I’ve had them back and front for quite a few years now and not had any problems but i’ve seen some with drilled discs that have had hairline cracks after not a lot of use but that was a few years ago.
Eliseparts Ali bells most outrageous mod on my Exige - 12 years without any problems
Thanks chaps EP it is.
I’m using EP discs on the front of my 2-11 now. I couldn’t justify the £££ for Alcon or 4 piston calipers.
At Anglesey last week my brakes were brilliant. No fade, rumble.
Hold fire, there could be a very good alternative.
that was close was just about to press the " buy" button… Whats up??
BG Developments are currently helping me with what I’d like. Have a look at their website and see what you think. Maybe if we are both after the same they could do a slightly better price.

Hi Clive.
Mmmmm.
If you are talking about the Elise Parts ‘Ali Belled Disks’, had a set of these on my first Exige S1 about 10 years ago. I warped them after a single TD at Donny!
EP were great… they said it would be marginal as my car had nearly 200 BHP they would not advise fitting them, as per the advice on their webpage about the Ali Bell disks. So they took them back and exchanged them for AP disks… I just had to pay the difference. Top service.
(This was 10 years ago, maybe they have changed materials etc, but the 200 BHP ‘warning’ is still there… and I am pretty sure your SC Honda may just about make over 200 BHP on a good day! )
After my next Donny TD, my AP disks developed hair-line cracks between the cross drilling holes! I believe from memory Ade also had something similar happen. No drama, just something to look for, but I was a bit disappointed.
The best disks I had were the Alcon ones from Seriously Lotus. I had these on ‘Shrek’ with no issues at all. Steve may add comment to this as I assume he did to some TD’s in Shrek as well!
All the above limited by my memory of course!!
Pete.
