Now, I’m in the paranoid camp about my head annealing in service (one day) but is this really the cure to save your uber expensive head?
How is the new aluminium put in the head? Is it by interference fit? What about different expansion rates as it looks like its not hardened with the head? How can they be sure that the rings will have the same expansion rate as the rest of the head if they do not hardnen the complete assembly afterwards??
If this works, surly this could be a very good step in the right direction for saving heads?
They do state that VVC heads are not catered for.
