I have these discs on my s2 exige. They appear to be fine in track so would like to swap just the disc out and leave the bells as they are.
Snag is I can’t identify them !

By the gouging on the bells i would suggest they are ap 295 possibly
Was that typical of the 295s? A design flaw? I think the pads were moving a little and damaging.
Have you something you recommend instead Dave?
Could the be these?
Its not those!
seriouslylotus any recommendations for similar stopping power from your good self?
Andy
Recommending stuff is rather difficult as some people like different things
The AP 295 disc was a cheap way of fitting bigger brakes at the front, but the discs are actually quite heavy for the diameter (Thick cheeks)
Also unless careful selection of pad make, as you have found out results in the pad backing contacting the alloy bell.
Its for these two reasons i went down the Alcon route, The Alcon 295 use a smaller bell and allow ‘any’ front pad that goes into the two pot caliper.
Not a cheap solution but quite effective.
The biggest improvement i have ever found with brake upgrade in ££££ terms is the pads. So replacing the discs with a 288 original size will have much less effect than the pads will have (assuming you are using pagid/performance friction/ carbon lorraine etc etc
Here is a link to the Alcon 295 295mm Alcon Brake Discs and Fixed Alloy Bells
Or the more cost sensible 288 cheaper version we offer (Tom at Datum Motorsport uses these on his Elise trophy cars)
S2 Alloy Belled Grooved Brake Discs
After much trial with pads, I would not on an Elige that goes on track use anything other than performance friction, also I will never skimp on stopping power so I used AP rotors, but I have never heard anything bad about Alcon either, just not used them, finally grooved or hooks, never drilled as they seem to crack with extended track use!
Just to add, I use neither of these on the Clio, ferrodo pads and high carbon brembo disks, but they don’t get worked quite so hard and performance friction don’t make pads for my Clio either
I have just purchased the 288mm discs from Dave. Ill measure the ones that are on when I take them off. No doubt we will have a fight!
I have DS1.11 in the car at the moment and they squeal like a stuck pig BUT I can just about lock the fronts under braking and force water out of the windows sprayer when heavy braking.
Thanks for the pointer ade Ill grab some AP/Alcon if these dont work out.

I used Alcons on my White S2 Exige and also on my V6 360 Cup. When the 3Eleven arrived that was also treated to Alcons. Why? Lotus price for the 4 discs on the 3Eleven, Just over £4000. I am also a great believer in i should use on my own cars what I sell to you guys
I have just had a delivery from seriouslylotus with my new discs.
Thats less than 24h from when I ordered to my door.
Impressive.
It’s pretty bonkers isn’t it. Great service!
