This guy brought this in today. He wants a Cayman S and is chopping it in along with his BMW 3 series.
As you can see from the pics, its an S1 Exige. Its nearly standard, apart from a sports exhaust and a de-cat pipe. It has only done 17500 miles from new and 4 owners.
I went out in it this aft and found that it comes ready with harnesses and a rather big carbon air box thingy. It still has its Blisteins on. He said it has never been on track but I dont quite believe him on that one.
The car is quick but sounds very tappetty. We went in it through Bolton town centre, along the A666 and over the Belmont for a while but the engine still tapped like mad when we got back. The car has a 11 month MOT and is taxed. It needs a “C” service but he said that he would do it for the asking price or knock the value off the car. He said that as far as he knows, the head has not gone. I would believe him on that as the cap looked clean and the coolant tank was very clear-its even cleaner than on my S1.
Albert didn’t see it as he has been off today but its coming back in tomorrow.
Now the bad bit…it was damaged in the storms. Basically, a car port has fell on top of it. I have seen pictures and they are just like you see on the news. But the good bit is that it is going into Chris Neils for a full respray and a new engine hood.
Now the confusing bit, CNs have under written the car at 13K. Now, it books at only 10250!!! I want to offer him 14K max after seeing the car but he want 16000 when it comes out of CNs.
