Anyone Know this car- Red Exige on Pistonheads

Afternoon chaps,

I mentioned in my introductory post, that initially my father and I were interested in the Red Exige S1 that’s currently for sale on pistonheads. I’m sure most of you know which one I’m talking about, but if not, heres a link:

However, we were told by two different individuals, both lotus traders, that the mileage and condition doesn’t quite marry up and best to stay away. But I’m just wondering if any of you have any further information on the car, it’s history and if you’ve seen it, the condition?

I don’t recall ever seeing that car - the only red S1 I think I’ve ever seen is Chris/Phil’s SC Honda car that is now run by Jas.

I guess it must have come up for sale and some of the usual sellers passed on it…but then I guess they were trying to sell you a car that they did have in stock.

If in doubt get someone independent to check it out who really knows their onions.

I think we’ve decided to move on from this one, to much uncertainty for my liking!

Definitely Benja, 100% Agree with the inspection by an independent lotus specialist and it’s something that we planned to do. Is there anybody that you recommend?

JDS on here, John is the main man. Inspected my car upon purchase here in Brum. Lives nearer you than me, John’s just too good. Call him.

I used Matt Bentley to inspect mine prior to purchasing it.

I was gonna suggest Matt or John too. Depending on where the candidate car is, either would do you proud.

I was toying with the idea of putting my car on the market soon but wanted to wait for the above red one to sell.

It does seem an expensive car - I had assumed that to justify that & substantiate the mileage & price they would have had a complete documented history for it?

Its been for sale for ages hasn’t it? Shows its too rich I reckon.
