Me too…it was like phoning the engine room and requesting a gear change.

Got 3 of these little Smarts at the mo…
Gearbox is cool…Leave in auto if feeling lazy (a bit slow to change tho)
Or switch to sequential for speedy changes… you can even block shift in a fashion Ie… 2 nudges = 2 gear steps !


No donuts tho i,m afraid … I ain’t found out how to switch the T/C off yet

That’s just greedy. I borrow GF’s one from time to time and absolutely love it. It certainly nips along the M62 at 80mph plus in the outside lane

The gearbox takes some getting used to but once you have the knack and read the road ahead it’s not nearly as bad as some of the motor journos made out.

Having driven Plans Motorsport’s courtesy Smart a few times I have to say that gearbox drives me mad after a while.

I did an airfield trackday a couple of years ago and a guy with Smart with a Hayabusa in back was there. Now that was an interesting car

I took the M3 off Autotrader and Piston Heads Jonny, so many stupid offers under book drove me crazy. It wasn’t helped by (FKING) CAR MAG (BUNCH OF C*S) who had it as their top residual nightmare in the Feb sale of the century cover I just don’t understand how an article can group so many cars, colours and specs together and give them one bargain price of �35k surely any auto alone (at a �2500 option) will up the cars residuals. For six weeks I’ve had the only M-DCT Auto Saloon on both those sites at �3k less than trade and not one inoffensive offer! Sign of the time I suppose…Still, could be worse hey!

To turn the traction control off you need a paperclip over 2 pins on the OBD plug.

try googling it to find which 2, its been a while since I did it.
