Any ideas please....

I thought I’d post this here as I’m drawing a blank searching on line. I need some sort of edging strip to finsh where the pylons come through. As neat as my Dremmelling is I can’t find a strip flexible enough to curve around the small radius…any ideas other than hemerode cream  would be greatly appreciated…tar muchly

Can’t you just get a sheet of thin rubber cut it to shape the just put a slit in the middle and pull it down over the pylon, then just glue in place.

kit car part suppliers?

Diffuser edging strip??

Any good - Rubber edge strip U section 10mm high suitable for 1-2 mm thick edge black 0.5M | eBay

Was hoping something like what Dave and Ian have suggested TC but I’ve tried that Dave already, it can’t do the radius.

The 2-11 has a thick sheeted sticker cut to size and stuck on.

This will probably do it as it is very soft.

What about the part used on proper Exiges, you know the S1

Simple mr Fox!

You just need some balsa or plywood to infill the gap.

Then, do a Benjamin and WRAP over that with some the same colour,

Or, another suggestion is to get some thin CF sheet and template cut it so it matches your pylons but also covers the gap. Fasten down with silicon.

Looks cool mate

I’ve just used duck tape cut to shape on mine.

Looking for something a bit nicer Will :astonished:

This problem intrigued me…now, an outboard motor lock has a slot in it with a rubber moulding:

Maybe worth a call to the suppliers to see if either (a) replacement seals are available or (b) they can put you in touch with whoever makes the seals?

The locks appear to be made in the UK by: http://www.outboardmotorlocks.co.uk

You can get it in a variety of colours and you can cut any fancy shapes you want in it

 sounds good lol

Brilliant thanks for posting everyone, lots to be going on

Yup this is what I would have said
have you tried heating it with say a hot air gun to tease it round the tight radius

How thick is the clam?

slots look pretty neat to me…maybe just paint the edges when you get the clam painted…don’t want to add any extra weight with rubber edging
