Another newbie

Hi all,

I’m looking to buy a new Exige ( non S ), but still in doubt for a few things.

I did read that the interiour is going to change end 07- beginning of 08. Are there pictures somewhere to show the difference? Also, super sports pack. Are the 1 way Bilsteins good, or is it better to go for Nitrons instead? In other words, just buying the seperate items afterwards.

Have a '02 S2 now, the braking feel will be reduced due the assisted brakes, but what about the ABS? Not to annoying on track?

Thanks all.

( Car wil be used for spirited road and the occasional trackday. LoT off course )

not many super sports pack cars for sale

after market stuff will be better shock wise.

braking feel is fine.

ABS never cuts in on track, but it does cut in while braking on a bumpy road which is crap.

you can fit a kill switch to it though.

So to sum up just buy a sports pack car and fit stuff when you think you need it.

Hi
If you are looking at a standard Exige I would recommend you buy 2nd hand as you will save a ton and the improvements they have made are not worth the extra outlay and depreciation.

I would get a standard Exige maybe 05 vintage and go to some where like Plans and spend a bit on Ohlins, RS42 brake pads, decent brake fluid and adjust the brake pedal. You will have saved yourself a lot of cash and have a sorted car!

ABS is actually really good only triggers after your wheels are sliding a far bit so tends not to be an issue.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the replies, really appreciated.

Well, my post wasn’t that complete, live in Belgium and residuals are a lot stronger here. Still get 20-21k for my 24k miles Elise. Although with the Elise S starting to drop relatively quick. Also, since the market is a lot smaller, not very much 2nd hand cars available.

Small bump, car is ordered.

Exige 190, super sports pack ( got a nice discount for that ), in chrome orange.

Delivery estimated end of august, its going to be a long summer.

you can fit a kill switch to it though.

Any details?
