Where did you get the decal from brendan?
marc.
I’ve had that lying around for a couple of years. I bought a set of decals from Sinclaire’s at the Donny Lotus show. I only wanted the windscreen one, but I got two smaller ones in the set.
I guess any Lotus Sport dealer should be able to get them for you.
Nice work on your cover
If you want to put a decal on yours, make sure you give the paint a few days to dry first. I didn’t leave mine long enough, and I got a load of bubbles under the decal. I had to spend a while with a pin bursting them all
I lacquered over mine to help prevent the decal from peeling.
You do all realise that this cosmetic stuff will confirm us S2 drivers at a bunch of hairdressers to the S1 mob
Having said that it looks great and I quite fancy doing it myself, but wondering if ordinary car spray paint will survive the high temps on top of the engine???
Mark
I know lots of people including myself who’ve done this on both S1 and S2 Exiges. I’ve never heard anybody say they’ve had a problem with the heat, even all those Americans with their (generally) higher ambient temperatures.
yep i laquered it too

save the nail varnish getting chipped eh…
Hate it when my paint chips
How do ya post a photo here
Host it at photobucket.com (free)
then copy the link (the one with [img] at the start and finish) on to here and it will do the rest
I’m going to have to do mine next weekend after seeing the effect…looks good. Will probably stick with a black with silver for the badge and lettering as this will match the black badges I have on the car and as the car is storm it should match better. Will probably put a Exige decal on the back plate the same as is on the rear of the car then lacquer…
There may be a problem if you don’t use heat resistant paint (sorry Brendan, mine’s bubbling and falling off). Mainly at the back over the exhaust manifold, but as the K-series is different to the Toyota engine, you may be ok.
lots of hairdressers in the US have painted their plastic covers, haven’t seen any ill effects yet, other than the name calling.
Brendan - that looks cool matey. Nice job!
