Another cracking day out, Exige honour was upheld. A massive thanks to Steve Edwards (diffuser boy), who got me home by replacing the bolt on my alternator, beyond the call of duty, workng long after everyone else had gone home.p.s., the Nitrons are the b*llocks!
Russ !Miniman here under a new login … Glad to hear Nitrons were good - I just finished complete refurb of all my suspension and put Nitrons on as as well [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]Did you solve the early locking up problem ? - I found some "running in helpes but backed of to only 3 from softest setting.CheersAndrew
Russ, Glad to hear my make shift fix got you back ok, did you make it in time for your ruby murry?I got home at about 10.30pm after getting stuck behind every slow car/van in wales that had decided to pull out in front on me on the twisty bit of the A5. Never mind though it was still a good day out.Have got some video of you and JohnO doing some synchronised skidding through the hairpin, looks and sounds great I’ll let you have a copy.Steve.

The problem did go away, partly due I think to the tyres “squaring off”, I also raised the front ride height by 5mm, and softened the fronts off. This solved the problem on the road, but on track it was crap! I then spent the morning going up progressively front then rear until it felt spot on. It will probably go harder, but I could’nt be arsed doing anymore as I was enjoying myself too much, and I did not see anyone going past me anyway!

It was worth the wait, glad you got back OK. I don’t believe that about John O skidding round the hairpin - he does’nt drive fast enough! Oi Mr Russ!! I have you know I can speed throught the hairpin at 5 mph now!!!Anyway, great day out… car was really on form and NO SMOKE !!!Hurray!Fancy some nitrons though, only if they make me drive Russ!! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]JohnO

Video evidence that an Exige is faster than a S2 190 Elise, I think… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]Have passed it on to Mum, she will give an opinion no doubt.
It’s that Steve Edwards fellow again isn’t it ?He’s a walking talking Exige track day hero that bloke is.
“Uh, Thankyou very much” (in an Elvis style)Russ,I knew you would like it, the weight reduction on the loss of the alternater belt made you quicker than the 190!! We now have an in-car mount so next time,We are at Prestwold Hall tomorow for our 1st track day, but we have had to change back to the std exhaust + Cat to get the car under the strict 98db noise limit that Book a track have put on the event. The locals would even complain if the event was only open to electric powered milk floats. But it should make for a steady 1st event after the winter engine/suspension rebuild.Hopefully the sun will still be out.Steve

I’m sure it would sell.Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]
