Anglesey northern convoy?

Any Ideas on a meeting time yet Tim? Looking forward to this now  fingers crossed with the weather forecast.

Weather looks to be good on Friday, some cloud in the morning but blue sky in the afternoon

Not long to wait now. I did have a look at the map Tim, and wondered about going further south. I’ll take a another look but I doubt I have the skill to post up a map,so might do it by road numbers

Actually, Tim, just re-read your posts so, as you endorse the A5 as a lovely drive, that’ll do for me.
Must sort out the northern leg of the journey . . .Forton services for you, me, Andrew B and Steve B?
Then link up with Jabbs and Ted?

Yep Steve, something along those lines. I think we can all have a break at Chester services just before the turn off for the jaunt into Wales? I’ll double check the route tomorrow and post then.

Guys being in Chester I can apply some local knowledge and have a much better route if you want? I am coming btw.

Too much information!

Ok, what do you have in mind? I will have already done circa 170 miles just getting to Chester, so something alternative of similar miles to my earlier post would be ok.

What say the northern collective?

Can you post your route Damon please

From Chester services, up over Llandegla moors, through and amazing twisty valley near Horseshoe Pass, then over to Bala, Trawsfynydd and approach Bangor from Beddgelert and Llanberis having driven the road around Snowdon.

First 2/3rd is great driving, twisty stuff mainly off the tourist trail; last bit past Snowdon will be slower and more touristy but by then a more relaxed drive will be in order.

If up for this set a time at Chester Motorway Services to meet

That looks good to me Damon :sunglasses:

If everyone is happy we could meet at Chester services circa 1.30pm for 2.00pm departure?

This will mean 11.15am at Penrith Rheged Layby

12.15pm Lancaster Services

1.30pm Chester Services

Do we need any other meeting points between Lancaster & Chester?

Jabbs?? MarkPH?? Anyone else??

Looks great to me, timings, too.
I will text Jabbs, and PM Mark PH, to draw their attention to the posts.

Looking good Damon, will it be easy for all of us to keep in convoy still? I don’t want to be lost in wales

We can always stick with the original A494 - A5 option. We won’t get lost or split up on that route?

The roads are pretty straight forward and there are so few main roads i.e. A494 or A5 you just need to get to one and head north.

MarkPH & C1RVY will do our best to get there for that time. Simon’s working in the morning, but pretty sure we can make it.

Motor all finished now - re-built gearbox, new discs, Geo set up etc etc - only £1300 so it will be perfect for Anglesey!

See you there!

Mark

Mark if you need a later meet than 2.00pm what would suit you better?

Pretty sure we can get there prior to 14:00 mate, thanks.

Just double checking with Simon.

Mark

The drive won’t take as long as you think so a later meet point isn’t a problem for light and that way we won’t get to the bar too early!

Probably not going to be there till later on now, guys, so if we’re not there (unlikely to be honest) then march on & we’ll see you at Llangefni!! Can taste the Brains & the Madras already…

Mark

Chester Services 1.30 pm good for us

See you Thursday guys.
