quote:Originally posted by 83man:Will somebody please explain the muck spreader incident? Was this malicious or just wromg place wrong time?It sounds like the ultimate road rage optional extra! As the legend goes, a small group of erstwhile Exige owners were merrily and innocently(?!) winding their way through the delightful scenery of the Snowdonia national park on the A5. Happening upon the occasional slower traffic, they would pass in a discreet and courteous manner. However, on one such occasion the driver of a muck-spreader wished to add a touch of colour to the proceedings and switched on his output! How whether this was “malicious or just wromg place wrong time?”, your guess is as good as mine!I was actually in the slightly later following group, my only doubt to this story is how on earth crap got on the drivers side of Brannan’s car!Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

[image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]The muck spreader was calmly traveling in the road in opposite direction to the group. There was a short straight, a small opening in the line of cars and a right turn following.Lord Whitter was the head of the group and overtaking, squeezed in to the line, just in front of the coming “muck spreader”.Probably seeing a line of 4 Exiges approaching FAST (orange car first), it probably set off the “emergency muck release” in the closely approaching tank (also probably manually activated).Lord Whitter thinly escapes the first spray, as the liquid molecules could not get to a vehicle traveling at warp speed. As he can assert, I was closely attached to his tail (:eek [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image] and therefore got the first spray. [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image]Brannan’s car was next and the muck flow increased (probably due to the huge vaccum created by his 260HP supercharger pushing to try to squeeze in the opening? [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]) and found Brannan’s car in his path. Finally, the flow was diminishing when Rox appeared in its path (wanting some of the action as well), also getting covered in muck. The word is Muck,Spread the word. Thanks for the ‘muck spreader’ story. Sounds malicious to me! I had to laugh though…sorry. It reminds me of a mate who, whenever asked the colour of his car always replied "sht brown". Maybe we should encourage manufacturers to use more descriptive names for their paints, e.g.Post box redTraffic light orangeDiversion sign yellowand, of course sht brownMike

Hi folks, sorry for the tardy post, but just had to add my sincere thanks to everyone for an absolutely brilliant couple of days - Exiges.com days are a real tonic! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]Thanks too to those of you who expressed concerned about my well being; as Russ said, I eventually got home at 22:00. [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image] In actual fact I was lucky it was that early, as on arrival the AA guy decided he couldn’t load the car (big transporter, too steep an angle) and it took some persuasion to get him to try (very, very slowly and carefully). The alternative was wait yet another four hours for a demountable to arrive from far a field! I suppose I should be thankful that this is the only time the Exige has let me down, despite its hard use, and that it was only 50p worth of spade connector.Hats off to Uldis, as he did indeed stick to my bumper, which given that he was driving a new car on the wrong side of the road deserves some credit! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/cool.gif[/image] Also to Brannan for displaying the biggest jet of flame Ive ever seen exiting the back of a car (race car or otherwise), as he backed of abruptly having gone past me at a very rude speed! Although the only time I saw Brannan produce such a big one (!) it was honestly huge roughly circular and noticeably wider than his number plate! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/shocked.gif[/image] And finally to Pippa, for providing the female element! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]As for the Chinese… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]Thanks again, we really must do another one soon, and my condolences to all slow moving Ferraris!PS No ones mentioned that at the time of the encounter with the muck spreader that poor Brannan had his window down!!!
