We will find the A5 - no problem [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/cool.gif[/image]I think 2:30 may be a little early for us to get to A5, but as PEsky said earlier it’s not cast in stone and we will keep in touch via mobile fone with everyone on the way down. I think it will be a hoot ! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]rox
Pesky (or anybody) do you know somewhere obvious in Froncysyllte (prononce that!) or Llangollen (a slightly bigger place) to meet? Both are on the A5 South-West of Wrexham.Pesky (& crew), I assume you are coming down the A483 to join the A5? Do you join the A5 directly from the A483, 2 or 3 miles after it becomes single carriageway, or take the A539, as soon as it becomes single carriageway, and join the A5 at Llangollen (over the bridge)? If the latter, I guess somewhere there would be better. My mobile is 07789 004508.Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]
AllI will speak with Lord Whitter in the next few days, & early next week post a suggested meeting place/time.
Just booked the last room on the 27th at the Angelesy Arms …I’ll see you all there on the evening I guess [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]Andrew
Pesky me old chumlet us know the arrangements and we will try to join the runB&P
Rox,saw your directions, thanks (answered on a separate email). And as you say it’s not set in stone (right Pesky). I’m just wondering how wasted I’m going to be just to get to that Snowdonai place and if after the long drive I’ll be able to ride the track the next day !.BTW, Pesky, I’m taking an extra set of brake pads (taking into account my love-hate relationship with my brakes). Is there going to be any facilities there in the track to change them? Do I need to consider taking a jack with me?On a final note, is there Optimax near the circuit? My car runs better with it (really!). Cheers, Uldis [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/cool.gif[/image]
UldisIf its any help I will be taking a jack and ramps, tool box and bits and bobs 'cos I’m trailering the car.I also beleive in Optimax and I think the best solution is jerry cans at the ready so I’ll have those as well - full. The kitchen sink sadly will not fit [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image]
Good man!the advantages of traveling large. And thanks for the fuel, I will definitely need it.See you there then,Uldis [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]
GuysA couple of points:Optimax - available 300 yards from the hotels we’re staying in. Only problem is that the circuit is about 20 miles away! We normally fill up before leaving for the circuit & then return to the Optimax garage at lunchtime to refill. I will also be taking a 5 litre container - just in case!Journey/meet up - Rox/Uldis what time do you think you can get to J27 on M6 (this is handy for Russ & me, & if you can arrive no later than 1.30pm it would be great!)? I met up with Martin & Steve Edwards last night, & we talked about meeting in Llangollen area at 3.30pm.

MinimanWhen are you going up to Anglesey?I live in Warwick (also have a black Exige), and am leaving Friday Lunchtime. Do you fancy meeting up?I presume you are going M42 (M5), M6, M54, A5 from Halesowen? If you fancy it - drop me an email (in my profile)Giles
Having now read your previous posts - I see you’re trailering the car up there!Advance warning - if you’ve never done the A5 route to Anglesey, you may regret not being in the Exige when you see some of the roads.Just a thought!Giles
GilesYeah I know !! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image] See you there - have fun on the way [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]Then we can talk about why black is best eh [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]Andrew
Uldis, A couple of points…You actually leave the M6 at Jct 20 to get onto the M56, not Jct 9. Its Jct 9 of the M56 on the way back that you get off at to go back up the M6. Its about 90 miles to the circuit from this junction.Between Jcts 21 and 20 are major roadworks over the ‘Thelwall Viaduct’ - be careful as there are SPECS cameras in the 40mph limit. The signs at the end of the M56 are for ‘Queensferry’ and 'N Wales’Circuit is signed off of the A55 once you are in Anglesey.See you there (only spectating), SOOTY

PeskyFor us it all kicks off with Uldis setting off first - so notwithstanding horrendous traffic or horrible roadworks or getting caught falling asleep doing mach-10, I estimate that we should be able to make 13:30 for a meet with you - and this would be great. However, I guess J27 is simply a junction with No waiting? [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image] Would it be possible for us to meet in, say, Charnock Richards service station? or is there another service station after this but before Knutsford?I’m really looking forward to this weekend [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/cool.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]
