Anglesey 28th Sept.

UldisAberdeen to Lancs = 6 to 8 hours???Lancs to Anglesey = 2hours (or if we go the “nice” preffered route = 3.5hours [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] )That’s why I suggest you need 2 overnight stops.Nearside - right, I do mean the left [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image] Or to avoid any confusion, the passenger side of a right hand drive car!!!

Right, let me process all the info an look for a few days at the map.I may not be able to steal 2 days from my work. But then I may…I’ll post later the schedule.Cheers,Uldis

[image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]Oh yes, indeedy [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] Normally join A5 west of Llangollen. Once in Wales,it takes on a different character from the one which you will be familiar with around the Midlands. The A55 is a decent A road, but it’s just sooo boring when you have the A5 as an alternative.Gatsos - Unless they’ve added some new ones in the last 6 months, I only recall one along the section we take. (Russ & I have radar detectors). However, the A5 has got loads of lovely up & down twisty bits, which an ordinary road map does not highlight, but which are great fun in the Exige [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image] The scenery is also magnificent, particularly through the Snowdonia National Park. Wherever we drive, we strictly observe the 30/40/50 mph speed limits. We will be hitting the A5 at around 2.30pm on the 27th, so it would be great if you could join us [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

PeskyThanks [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/cool.gif[/image]I guess you come down the A494 thru’ Ruthin? Which looks like it might be a bit of a hoot as well? [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/shocked.gif[/image]I will probably be convoying with Uldis on 27th - so perhaps we could exchange mobile numbers? and we could attempt to join with you around 14:30?? Although that looks like it may be a little early for us to be that far down.

RoxTeddy & UldisKeep us posted of your travel plans & we’ll hopefully be able to meet up - 2.30 ish is not “etched in concrete” [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

(27th & 28th) or do you go straight home from the trackday on 28th??

Shall we arrange a meeting point and time for those people who want to do the A5 run?Suggestions???Giles

[image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/cool.gif[/image] I count 14 exiges booked for this [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] Has anyone ever seen that many in one place b4?

RoxTeddyWe’ve had over 20 at Donington in Sept 2001, & also Cadwell in May 2002.Can’t wait for Anglesey on the 28th [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

[image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]There’s nothing like a road trip!Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]ps. How about the next Exiges.com day at Spa?!

Guys,I have been talking with Rox, since we are both coming from Scotland and we’re planning on leaving on the 27th and staying the night of the 27th and after the track day also the night of the 28th, driving back on the 29th.I also got the following directions from Dave Stanley:"You need to get onto Edinburgh city by-pass, once crossed the forth bridge either stay on the A90 and head towards Edinburgh until you see signs for city by-pass, or once you cross the bridge bear left and follow signs for A8000, join the motorway at Kirkliston, and follow signs for M9, then M8 Edinburgh/ city-pass, stay on the by-pass until you get to the Stratton junction, also signed A702, follow the A702 to the M74, follow the M74 south followed by the M6, leave the M6 at junction 9 and join the M56, should be signed Chester, once at the end of the M56 follow signs for A55, queens. Stay on the A55 as this takes you all the way to Anglesey."In reality until I see a map (I still have to get one), it makes sense, and Dave says it doesn’t take that long using this route. Still, I don’t think we’d make it in time to catch Pesky and mates for the drive through the Snowdonia Nat Park (A5 at 2:30?)If that’s the case (or you guys want to meet a little bit later there?), any indications on how to find Snowdonia on our own?Cheers,Uldis
