Just watched the TV coverage of the Oulton LOT race.
What the hell has Andy Walsh got in his car
How can he start 1:45 behind a 2-11 and catch it ?
Also did anyone see how fast he went past Gavin & Martin’s 2-11
I think I want a S1

Great coverage, wasn’t it!
Honda with Rotrex supercharger (+ charge cooled), but “de-tuned” to meet the regs. Don’t forget that “driving” is his occupation
IIRC Gav & Martin run in different classes
So, are the cars in the same tune, or what? & is the ‘de-tuned’ Honda running more HP than the 'yota boys
I’m confused. Still, it was great TV though for a rainy bank hol
Donnelly’s car is not a standard 211, hence it runs in Class C (Gav is in Class B).
Each class has a max bhp/tonne, & AFAIK the 211s are lighter than the Elises/Exiges.
No doubt Gav, Sean or Dave P will answer more precisely. (It’s a waste of time asking Russ or Evosal, as they haven’t a friggin’ clue )
PS Wasn’t DaveP’s driving very impressive too?
Hehe…nope, different classes.
2-11’s were Class B at Oulton - so same class as non-supercharged Hondas.
Class C currently runs at 310bhp I think - and yep…very quick !

Thanks Rob !
Can’t complain at a 2nd in class in my 2nd race eh
Looking forward to Croft already!
Hmmm, still confused. I’m sure Mr Donnelly was in class C at Oulton
Still some good driving all round, & nice to see Steve B’s (6970K) mota racing
When is the Croft round?
That’s right Tim, Donnelly is in Class C.

Dave - Should you have been at Cadwell a couple of weeks ago ?
I’m at Cadwell on the 30/11 for a LoT day - are you up for it ???
I’ve only seen your car up on jacks… never actually seen it ‘go’…

Class C is 320bhp at the flywheel 290 at the hubs easy mistake to make

Good ole Nigel, eh?
Yeh he pressed a 4 instead of a 3 on the laptop

Haha, I could say the same about yours Pete
Sorry - will be on holiday in November ! Am planning to do Croft on the 6th Sept with LOT though ? - could be another get-together (although I know it’s a long way for you?)
Dave, its been a while now so safe to post in-car from OP?
GO ON…
I think donnelly is in class C as he had to replace his damaged clams with some slightly more ‘racy’ ones lotus had knocking about as they had run out of normal ones, so didn’t meet class B regs. Maybe wrong though.

That’s not the only reason, mon ami
Love it!
Super smooth driving, & fantastic video - well done Dave & Damon
what a friendly good-night-movie, thanks

Yeah, I’m going to have to swap racing Gods if mine doesn’t come up with some stuff like this…
