Ancillary Guages

Hello All,

When I brought my S1 it had two extra aftermarket guages fitted. It’s a nice neat job so all good, but I have no user guide or info with them.

(Sorry picture is on the wonk…)

I wondered could anyone

A. Recommend what healthy running temps/pressure should be, so I know when not to worry or when to panic!

B. Having looked around google without much luck o don’t suppose anyone has any user experience with these? I think you set an alarm for if healthy maximums are reached etc but don’t know how to do any of that.

Thank you James

Hi James, I’ve recently fitted both of those exact gauges to my Elise.

I believe they came with the same set of user manuals for both so happy to post a set to you if need be?

I suppose the best thing is to see what’s normal and then watch for something out of the normal. Oil can go off the end of that temp scale and be ok but it it gets there something is wrong. Oil temp is faster to respond than water temp as is closer to the hot stuff but I’d still wait for good water temp before pushing the engine. Low oil pressure would be your worry if the engine is above idle. You have a warning light but the gauge may tell you more quickly. If you get high oil pressure something is blocked or the gauge is faulty.

That’s would be amazing, obviously happy to cover your costs. I think they have quite a bit of functionality so keen to understand the functionality.

:+1::grin:

Thank you. I think (and observed) circa 90 degrees for the oil temp when at appropriate running time to be warm which looks to be about what is suggested.

Not sure what “normal” is for Oil pressure for VHPD.

Appreciate reply :+1:

No problem, can you PM me your details and I’ll dig it out :thumbup:
