Anchors

My brake pads need changing as they are quite worn down.
Had a search through past posts but can’t make my mind up which option to go for.

I have 4 pots with STD RS14’s, I had some fade and vibration at snetterton a few weeks back, is this because they are coming to the end of there life? I have been looking at the CL pads RC5 / RC6 as an alternative.

Interested to know your experiences with CL pads against pagids?

what fluid are you using?

Oh no, not again! Keep off the fluids!!!

LOL…

hic!

i have the standard set up, new 2010 RGB, however what you describe is exactly what i had at donny. the lads thought it was the fluid.

Gravy?

Yup - Lotus stick std dot 4 in production cars - get some SRF in quick and stick with the RS14’s IMHO

i’m doing the same…thanks Chris

Vibration?
Do check the whole disc, inside and out for cracks, usually starting at the outermost drill holes

RS14’s!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

They are worse than not telling your wife you have bought a car 6 months ago!!!

So many better options. All in my opinion of course

RS14’s are great until you start to get the dreaded pad transfer then they become a nightmare.

Given them a go a few times. Same result each time.

Try the CL5+ or CL6’s.

I am on the CL5+'s now and will give the CL6’s a go next.

When the current RS14 wear past halfway they shoud be thrown away IMO …

They changed something a few years back and they have never been the same since for me … different smell as well …

Swapped my RS14’s for CL RC5+, so far much better on the road and I’ll let you know how they go on track at anglesey but feeling from a little play on the road is good

Thanks for the replys. I always thought RS14’s were a really good spec.
I have had a couple of late breaking moments on the last couple of trackdays with bad fade. Think I am going to have a go with the Quiche Lorraine RC6’s. Is it always best to change the pads all round?
