"am too hot"

I take it from seeing you yesterday on chorley new road Mr Pesky(looking cool as ever:P) you haven’t had your weight saving con-air repaired yet?Any news from LRV on your post warranty claim? [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/confused.gif[/image]

MarkI didn’t see you - were you in the Krautmobile?Aircon pipe to be fixed week after next - under warranty [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]As a matter of interest, ALL the factory Exiges at Rockingham have aircon, & ALL had broken pipes!!!

Pesky - as someone who may have to persue a claim that might be judged out of warranty just how did you manage it?

SteveThe broken aircon pipe problem appears to acknowledged as a “design fault” - nearly every car with aircon seems to have had a pipe break!!However, for extra peace of mind I have also taken out the extended warranty - yep, you guessed it, the one approved by Lotus & underwritten by Warranty Holdings.

Still waiting for a Warranty claim to be paid by Warranty Holdings!!! It was for a mapping sensor, Is this the norm that they take forever to pay??

John (Tunnelmeister)How long have you been waiting? I thought Warranty Holdings would pay the dealer direct for the work - is this not how it works then?PS I’ve still got your video - nudge, nudge, wink, wink [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

I had my Con Air pipe fixed out of warranty and din’t have to pay a penny.Whether my extended warranty covered it or Lotus agreed to pay it, I don’t know. What I do know is that after 200 miles and Cadwell, it’s now broken again!Giles

Which air con pipe and where ?

My aircon pipe busted last week, let’s hope they replace it with an improved replacement, otherwise it’s going to be a regular fix…I’ve never wasted so much money on such a useless extra.

Am just wondering - are the pipes breaking because of the engine movement? …if so, could you get an engine steady-bar bush from Geary, paid for by Lotus…I have one to protect my manifold…they are only 30-odd…or is that all a load of b*llocks?

RussTI would agree with you about the cause. You can show me your bush when you call round to collect your Le Mans tickets etc [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

Hi mate - are you working today? If not am free for lunch etc…

air-con air-con air-con [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/image]....just remove it all and save sh1t loads of weight…wimps [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

Anybody had pipe replaced under goodwill warranty from Lotus? I don’t have ex-warranty [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image]

MarkSorry, I didn’t make myself clear. My aircon pipe is to be fixed at Lotus’s cost, not by a claim on the extended warranty policy. With the latter, Lotus themselves do not become involved - any claims are resolved direct with Warranty Holdings. The broken aircon pipe is a basic “design” problem - so should be fixed at the factory’s expense. After all, the aircon was a 1400 “extra”!!!I doubt that the pipe itself is an expensive item. However, the system needs “re-gassing”, which no doubt costs a bit as a specialist has to come out to the dealer to caary this out. Are you having trouble getting the job done FOC? If so, give me a ring for a chat [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

I had air-con-air repaired as a goodwill when out of warranty. They still charged me for the new discs though - must get these of to a metalurgist!Mike

Hey Pesky… yeah been waiting a month now, yes usually the dealer gets paid, however I went to Pit Lane and Paid Rocco first under the circumstances before they closed so im still waiting!!! Chased up// but the cheque still not here!Hows the Vid??? haha

Has there been any update on broken air con pipes since this post? I did my first trackday at Bedford on Saturday (brilliant), and broke my air con pipe after about 10 laps - luckily I’m covered by Lotus Extended Warranty.

David

Lotus have replaced some people’s even out of warrenty. I saw one nice mod that essentially mounted the pipes on something more flexible than the metal mounting so there was some give. Also, where it is mounted you can’t re-gas the A/c very easily. It really was a bodge job from Lotus!
