Not sure how all this weighs up but I’ll be packing the dash and ECU away with the VHPD. Marc’s VVC arrives tomorrow with an Emerald, what alternative dash could I use…AIM or maybe even Cosworth?
Depends on budget really.
Sub grand and you’re looking at blue LCD displays, over you get the colour ones.
You will need to plan for all the normal led like turn signals, charge lights, full beam, and hand brake. These can consume analogue io on the aim etc, but have built in led on the race tech dash2.
Motec stuff looks the daddy though, and you can make your own graffic designs for that magpie bling appeal.
Race Technology Dash 2 can now come with ECU link built in including for Emerald.

I changed from RT Dash 2 to the new improved Dash 2 …
On balance I would / should have changed to an AIM MXS as the new TFT screen technology is better for old eyes …

Lights by Fisher Price? 
My preference would be an AiM MXL2/MXS. Emerald can signal sorted, so anything the ECU see’s then the dash can show/log. Then you can add in any other sensors you like, same as any other dash really. GPS is included, so you get track maps, lap times - don’t tell Pesky - and all sorts of other things this can bring along. Have a look at the software, make sure you have the latest level and see what you can see.
MXS gets you 8 inputs, 2 outputs. For MOT’s on an S1 you will use 3 of these - indicators, handbrake/low fluid and main beam - the rest is up to you to fill with whatever you like - oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure, tosser achievement level indicator, fuel level, etc.
Fuel level is at the moment a small challenge, but there is a fix coming, plus possibly an off the shelf solution.

I don’t come over to the dark side often, but you do have some nice bits of kit to play with and a new kid on the block. I’ve discovered where JF has been hiding.
