YUK!
how do they fit?
you cut the originals off and these fit over the stub that remins secured in place with grub screws. the join is all hidden under the rubber gaiter
takes 5mins tops
They need to be brushed alloy for the mark 2 as thats would be the same as the hand brake cover and gear knob…are they available

Can we bodge it?
Yes we can…
Sorry, but who’s ‘air brained’ idea was that?
To be fair, I think all the aftermarket alloy stalks have the same fitting instructions.
If you look at the original

the “working parts” are attached to the stalks and I dont think there is any alternative.
Not for me thankyou…
- Ooops, I think I have cut this one off a bit too short.
- I have half fitted them correctly but dont like them??
- The old ones wont glue back on no matter how hard I try…
- All that is left to do now is to jab pencils into what’s left of the storks while waiting for lotus parts to get off their asses.
- Theres a slim chance you like them and keep them on your car. Sod’s law says one of them will fall off on you just when you need it the most.
If they cant make direct replacemnet units them dont bother imho. It s like attaching a go-faster chromed tip to the end of a standard exhaust pipe.
Really cheap, really nasty.
Gav
FFS… don’t sit on the fence
dear mr tarmac
these are not cheap or nasty they are top quality
all aftermarket stalks are attached this way
if you are not capable of fitting them correctly you should not be walking let alone driving ! as they are that easy to fit
had a set on my car for 2 years and they have not fallen of yet
fair coment they may not be for you but thankfully we are not all the same
rant over
Mate of mine has a set of these fitted to his elise, they actually look quite good, they have a nice quality look and feel about them, much better than the nasty Vauxhall items fitted as standard.
Each to their own, but for the lovers of ally tat they’re a must
not just me that likes them then
I fitted some to an Elise and I’m a nightmare with anything like this…put it this way we have a tool bag in our house and it’s my wifes …but they were a doddle to fit…

I don’t like the idea either.
You’re removing a sound mecanical conection for… something not as solid.
It is bound to be heavier and colder in the mornings, not pleasant to the touch.
And on top of that they’re shiny, so more of a chance of distraction when the sun hits in the right angle (up there with that chrome surround for the stack that they sell)
Alloy tat, just not needed IMO.
Must agree with the cold metal in the morning comment - really unpleasant.
Also made me think about heat sink at the opposite end of the temperature scale.
Terribly sorry muffin, no offence against you, just direct constructive comment on your product. You have after all posted on an open forum. I spoke for everyone and anyone and not just for myself. There are people out there (me included), who at times dont know thier arsehole from their elbow, let alone which end of a fork to use. What are you going to do when someone comes back saying they have chopped their finger off with a jigsaw by trying to take a short cut not following your instructions correctly?? Not saying that it ever will happen of course, I’m just giving you an example of what your average joe public can get upto, although stupider things have and can happen, thats a fact!!
No, Im sure the materials used in it’s construction are of the best quality, and the grubs screws will never agian travel down such finely machined threads (unless you have to keep tightening them up that is), but thats not my gripe. It’s just that the item here somehow manages to sum up what I consider a ‘nationwide fad’ of cutting off, bodging on and covering up to make it look good again. And I’m not just talking about cars and the crap you can attach, I’m talking about EVERYTHING these days. There seems to be a rubber gromit, facia board, sheet of steel etc. etc. to cover up every multitude of sin you could ever possibly want to imagine!!
This just doesnt enter my line of thinking, and certainly not the way I like to do things. Out of sight? Maybe…Out of mind? Definately not.
wow…have you been saving that up?
you must feel better now you have got that off your chest
Yes feel much better now thank you Steve…Always get bored on a Sunday and feel as though I need to put the world to rights.
Not being funny or anything but does Exiges.com not have any basic rules in place for the advertising of such items in this manner?? It would seem blatantly obvious to me that there is little or no intention for any other activity on the site other than to generate a source of income from this product??
Please feel free to tell me to piss off and mind my own business if you feel as though I am out of place on the matter.
Thanks
Gav
My understanding was that David (Admin5) didn’t really like people just pitching-up and advertising without asking. Regulars can get away with it by adding something to the community. Personally I don’t mind as some times things are of interest, as long as they don’t start interfering with general banter. My 2p.
