Any ideas to get the allen bolt loosened that holds the cam belt tensioner pulley.
The head of the bolt is badly damaged now I have tried to drill it but the easy out snapped off.
My next plan is to cut off the pulley with a Dremmel so I can get some grip on the head of the bolt unless anyone has another idea.

A die grinder on the bolt is the best bet, you will neve cut off the tensioner plate, it is too awkward, once the head of the bolt is rmoved it will unscrew easiy once the tensioner is removed and the clamp is taken off.

I just removed mine using an Irwin bolt remover from machine mart. Hammered the remover onto the allen head and removed with a ratchet.
Bought some easy outs which were crap.

best things on the world! … snap-on do a “male” set aswell which fits inside damaged allen heads (the irwin extractors bite onto the round outside) if i could have a penny for every time both these tool sets saved my ass i’d be a very rish man. worth there weight in gold, and then some!
anyone know where to get a new allen bolt?
After loads of swearing blood sweat and tears I finally got the allen bolt out.
The Urwin bolt removers did the the trick in the end. I had to grind the pulley off to allow the socket to fit. The last idiot had put Loctite on all the thread of the bolt!
Thanks for everyones help.
Just waiting for the new plugs uprated water pump to arrive should be up and running tomorrow,
