Alarm/immobiliser problem

I plugged in the Accumate last night then tried to lock the car to silence! The key fob wouldn’t work so the immobiliser kicks in and I have a car that I can’t lock or start!! Tried the spare key with the same effect.

After much ranting my calmer wife suggested we try to re-sync the keys. This didn’t work and added to my less than happy demeanour. Luckily being a Dr. my wife ignores the swearing and takes me thorugh the programming of the fobs using the pin. Success!!

I’ve not had this before and wondered if I suggest expect to go through the same every time I plug in the charger?

Cheers

Lost count the amount of time i have used my accumate on the exige, never had any issues, although i cannot remember ever arming the alarm while it has been on charge

Youve either disconnected the battery to connect your Accumate jack plug or let the battery discharge too low: I’ve just been through the same thing over the weekend and ended up replacing the battery as I’ve let it discharge too low between charges and fried the bloody thing.

I had a feeling that connecting the Accumate up (via plumbed in connectors) triggered a reset. I hadn’t used the car for about 10 days, but don’t think the battery is duff as all the lights etc worked without the accumate on. I wonder if the Alarm ECU is sensitive to sudden increases in power?

Cheers

i always plug in the accumate and then close the boot and lock the car. never had any problems at all.

S2 exige btw
