After leaving my car with parents for 2 weeks whilst I was on holiday, the AC has decided to stop working again! It was only 6 months ago that I changed the metal pipes in the sill to the revised rubber ones and regassed the system !
I’m not really sure on what to check first with AC, and also if there is any gas left in the system (hoping it could just be the pressure switch).
Any advice welcome…
Check the gas first.
Mine failed & it turned out to be a faulty sensor meaning a clam off job to replace.
/Pats warranty clause
My condenser had split, maybe worth checking this?
Another thought - what are the symptoms?
When my sensor packed up the effect was the condensor froze over preventing air to pass through & into the cabin. Normal service would resume after the condesor thawed, but only until it again froze over…
The sensor regulates the condensor by switching in & out to prevent it from freezing solid & stopping the air flow. Sound familiar?
Unfortunately the clam has to come off for the fix
Tiny bit of progress.
I checked the AC recharge lines within the o/s scoop yesterday and used a screwdriver to pressed one of the valves which hissed a lot when pressed so it looks like there is still gas in the system! So it must be an electrical fault!?
I then took the n/s front wheel off to check the ac relay, and noticed the relay on the wheel arch liner was unplugged! So I looked for the wiring harness that it plugs into and found another relay already plugged into it and mounted next to the fuses knew it wouldnt be that simple! Anyway, I switched the relays over in the slim chance it might work which it didnt, and then put it back to how it was. The relay that was already plugged in did look a lot newer than the other relay, so I can only assume it has been replaced at some point but never removed!?
Next to check I guess is if the solenoid to the pump is getting power, fuses and low pressure switch any advice welcome.

Worked for me
The aircon on my Scura packed up on Monday night as I discovered that one of the rubber hoses had rubbed on the alternator pulley and was releasing the gas!
To be fixed under warranty as part of the 1K service on Saturday.
