2 does anybody know the one for sale at David Alexander motor company in titanium reg H19 Fun?
3 Also any obivous things to look out for?
4 Anybody know of good one for sale?
Cheers all Neil

Welcome Neil

I would say that you don’t need the aircon…

Others may disagree, but it would depend on whether you do long journeys on crowded motorways in the summer…

They say the aircon is more CON than air anyway

Don’t know the car, but someone will !!!

Look very carefully for any accident damage - check for uneven tyre wear - does the mileage check with the overall car condition ?

  1. In my opinion you need it if you use it as your day to day car in the summer. If you have the window open on a hot day the heat from the radiatior comes through the front floor/bulkhead. Some heat comes through the rear ‘windsreen’. If you close the window you get hot anyway. So close the window and a/c on. Other, harder souls get by without it.
2/3. Make sure it comes with catalytic converter - if it’s been removed.
  2. Have a look in the for sale section on this site - most of the cars are well known.
    Good luck
    Tony

If its sold as being a 190 upgrade ask exactly what has been done and check off each item against the list elsewhere on the board.

Also ask whether the recall work for the fuel filler and revised ECU has been done.

It isnt being sold as 190 but it does have paperwork asying it is about 185bhp via carbon airbox lightened fly wheel etc. It has had a new clutch very recently i was told , is this usual on a car that has done 20k? I have an elise so am well aware of k series problems and lotus in general.

Neil,
They ALL have lightened flywheels and a carbon air box will not gain any power. If the car is a 177 but has been on a dyno at 185 then thats ok but the driveability of it will still be ‘bogged’ down in the mid-range, the 190 ecu mapping over comes this.

Its possible the clutch was replaced with the stronger AP Racing one or the previous owner was into standing starts in a big way !

Trudy has been talking of selling hers, same colour as mine (Aqua) with 190 upgrade.

Phil & Trudy
first of all, happy new year and all that…
no Trudy, you can’t do it. you will regret it big time
you will never ever get a car like that again, I’m telling ya Phil, talk her out of it You know it make sense
laters,
B

Just been looking at the one that that Adrin Blyth has that has done 5000 miles! Anybody know that one? do u think it is a good buy? or the one one Alexander David in titanium?

Neil

I live about a mile away from Alexander David garage. I went to look at this car about six months ago, but by the time I sold my Boxster it was gone. I understand that whoever bought it from them sold it back to them recently.

The garage contacted me to ask if I was still interested, but I had already bought my titanium Exige elsewhere.

What I can say is that one of the owners, Scott, was extremely helpful when I went in. Gave me lots of advice for when I was looking around for an Exige and spent quite a bit of time advising me what to look out for. He has personaly owned two Exiges himself in the past and seems genuinely interested in them. I know when I looked at it the car was in very good condition.

I know they now have a dark blue one in the showroom as well, although personally I think the Titanium looks the best, although I would say that wouldn’t I ?

Almost roundthe corner from this garage are a company called Lakeside Engineering. They are ex Bell & Covill Employees and specialise in servicing and repairs of Exiges.

They seem to be held in fairly high regard, although I haven’t had to use them yet.

You could always get them to give check it over for you.

Hope the above is of some help.

I’ll second that, they are good chaps!

Didn’t know they were ex-B&C boys. They still deal with them, as I’ve been there when B&C have drops bits off.
