i understand there is a few problems with the air con not working on s2 exiges and that it can cost a fair bit to fix with the dealer. i understand that the air con pipes are replaced from metal ones to rubber ones (i think anyway) to solve the problem. however has the air con problems been solved with later cars? if so what year? im guessing that when lotus realised the problems they fixed it on the newer cars that were produced? thanks in advance
As you say any S2 with the metal pipes may soon start to leak. The rubber coated pipe is the now standard factory fix. The sensor at the condensor failed on mine recently. A cheap part, but the clam has to come off. Apparently it’s an easier fix on an Elise as the clam can stay on.
Apart from that & the Scura problem reported here that’s about it
oh that good news then. thanks tim. however do you know what year they started to factory install the runner coated pipes?
‘Sometime’ in 2007, as that was when I had mine sorted on the 111R.
