Just purchased (Sept 1st delivery) Exige S having been very satisfied Elise owner for past 4 years. Dealer’s Exige demonstrator had Lotus MotorSport 300mm steering wheel with snap-off boss which I prefer to the standard Lotus wheel. What is the most common aftermarket wheel for those that have one and best place to buy if not Elise Parts or Elise Shop? Thanks Kimbo
I brought the Elise Shop wheel with snap off boss and its great at about 25% less than a Lotus wheel, to all intents its the same Momo wheel and boss.
Welcome and good choice!
I got my 300mm ‘MOMO Power’ (which I’ve seen several other owners use in its various guises) with the car from Bell & Colvill. I much prefer the slightly narrower wheel (std = 320mm).
To be honest, whilst the Snap-Off makes entry and exit a bit easier it does wear and need replacing, and if you get a bad vibration it can even help the thing fall apart!

I still have a Momo Top power 300mm for sale … if your interested !
Apologies AndyD…when I posted I forgot Monday was a bank holiday so I had to get my order in today if I wanted it fitted to new car. Chose Momo snap-off from Elise Parts with OMP 300mm Trecento wheel. kimbo
I have a Reverie carbon-fibre steering wheel for sale if anybody’s interested. Complete with Lotus horn button. Unusually, the wheel’s been trimmed in suede. It’s a superb job, done by the guy who trims reverie’s wheels for the Citroen WRC cars, and Williams’ F1 cars. Really nice work with no stitching. It’s just glued on, but the edges meet perfectly so you can barely see the joins.
The suede is a little worn on both sides where you hold it, so it’s looking a little shiny, but that just gives it chararacter
I also have a fixed momo boss for attaching it, or alternatively a quick release kit.
With the fixed hub, the wheel only weighs 1.2 Kilos compared with 2 Kilo’s for the standard wheel and hub.
Brendan,
What are you replacing it with? (if you don’t mind me asking of course )
Tim.
I’ve gone back to standard. I think the Reverie wheel suited my S1 better than it does the S2.
Hi there
Are you selling that steering wheel and if so how much are you after? Please let me know i may be able to offer it a good S1 Exige home. Regards
Jez
Hi Jez,
The wheel is a Reverie Eclipse 315mm diameter.
They normally cost 575 new. Plus the suede, hubs and horn button.
I was hoping to get 300 for the lot.
Brendan, did you sell this yet?
Nope, just had a couple of enquiries.
