Aero wiper blade

Anyone tried one of these?

Boothy, is this the one you have?

Damon

I went for an aero wiper once I saw the price in Halfords for a single replacement. Bought off ebay for 6 delivered and am well chuffed with it. Aesthetically it is a great improvement, allegedly reduced noise, (cant tell in mine) and works as well as the factory fit item it replaced - more so at speed.

When in the parked position, the outer couple of inches of the blade do not sit flush due to the curvature of the screen. This does not cause any problems as the affected part of the screen is well out of the drivers field of view. Once the wiper has travelled a couple of inches on to a straighter part of the screen, there is full contact.

All in all a good and relatively cheap upgrade - hope this helps

Harvey.

Hi Damon,

Mine is a Valeo, it looks alot like the one in the picture though

Just to add I had another one first that did not last very long, I dont know the brand though. Had the Valeo a while now and it still clears the screen on first wipe.

Edit to add pretty sure mine is a Valeo Silencio X.TRM Flat Blade Upgrade

Just got mine in the post - very good!

I’ve not fitted any other kind of wiper to any of my car in the last 4 year except an aero type wiper. They work so much better and look sexy…As far as wiper blades go anyway lol.

What size goes on the Lotus, they don’t list it as a model to select on the site

With a bit of tubing to by pass the oem washer jets these work really well (on S1s anyway!) http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/product-detail.php?Make=100&Model=1331&Year=1995&Position=1&ID=118

Nothing works as well as the Aero blade IMHO, you should get one instead of that heavy thing

After trying both, I disagree, especially when driving on roads which are muddy/gritted/salty ie when you urgently need the wiperblade/screenwash to work instantly in unison.

Plus the aero jobbie flaps about like a big girls blouse when in the “parked” position

Thats strange my wiper only flops when I lift it off the screen?

And my S2 jets work just fine

Flapping - see pics earlier in this thread

Jets - may work okay, but blade takes time to reach the sprayed area…whereas a spraybar distributes the screenwash directly onto the blade/screen, so it’s much quicker at screen cleaning.

PS I’ve got a very little used aeroblade, which you can have for nowt, if I get to the Boatyard tomorrow
