Accusump plumbing diagram

Having studyed the accusump fitting instructions at the link below
http://www.bell-colvill.co.uk/admin/lotusnews/PDFS/4490.pdf
I am questioning the position of the inline oil filter as anything it filters out on the way into the accusump will be pushed back into the engine when it discharges? Surely it would be better to put it before the check valve then it would protect filling the accusump and stop the check valve getting clogged too?

Nope filter on the way in to the accusump, if you get an engine failure at least it won’t be full of crud as well

Putting it before the check valve would still filter incoming oil from the coolers and if you have an engine failure the crud filtered by the inline filter will just be dumped back in to the engine as the supply and return line are the same thing…
what about 1 before the check valve and 1 on the way to the sandwich?

The inline filters are tiny. They aren’t ideal for a full flow of oil between services. It is there purely to protect the accusump cylinder. The engine oil filter is there to protect the engine

That makes much more sense now cheers

Does anyone know what pressure EPC the Lotus sport kit uses?
55-60psi
35-40psi
or 20-25 psi

EPC?

The accusump gauge shows 40psi when up to temp.

Electronic pressure controller, it stops the accusump re-filling until oil pressure reaches the lower number and stops it discharging till pressure reaches the higher number I think

AFAIK the Lotus one is 35psi which is the one I bought as well.

That would tie in with the pressure Tim sees on his, any other thoughts…

p.s if anyone is thinking of fitting an accusump from ebay or wherever, I could pass you the part numbers I used from think auto and speed flow to plumb everything in
