Accusump is definitely retro-fittable too but I wonder if it is really needed. I have never heard any stories about heavily tracked Yota Exiges in the UK suffering problems due to oil starvation, although our US friends on elisetalk.com seem to think it could be an issue. Perhaps the potential damage due to low oil pressure during high g cornering would only start to manifest itself at higher mileages?
Accusump your looking at 400 to 700 quid anything lower than that and its not including all the stuff needed to fit it.
Ohlins can be bought and fitted from either Lotus Sport or Plans (plans offer a range of Ohlins including the 240R ones and my 46mm kit)
Either Plans or Lotus Sport can fit the accusump might be best to get a quote on that. Dont forget that Lotus sport aint Lotus but a performance arm, may or may not shaft your warranty might be worth checking too.
Accusump will keep the engine fed with oil if you are in a long corner and all the oil is surging.
Oil coolers will do what they say keeps the oil from cooking.
Both are worth having if you are tracking a lot
Another added benefit that should not be discounted:
Pre-oiling
Independent studies have indicated that up to 50% of wear on engine components occurs during the engine start-up, before oil pressure can be established by the oil pump.
The Accusump can eliminate this “Cold start scuffing” by delivering oil under pressure before the engine is started.
i’d picked up on plansoptions from Jamies posts and that definately an option. Did their work invalidate your warranty Jamie
I’ll probably do between 2-8 trackdays but have traditionally gone quite hard in the past and had a pretty bullet proof 911 RS …so I’m anxious to make sure I’ve got the right bits
I would think it could invalidate parts of the warranty which ever you go for LS or Plans but again worth checking as all you are doing is improving your engines chances of a long happy life.
That looks a really good deal from Forcefed for the Accusump and all the fittings - I wonder how hard it would be to install. The only thing which would concern me slightly is that from the picture it looks like the kit includes a brass tee piece, so I wonder if this is used to connect the oil feed to the engine block where the low pressure warning sender is while keeping the original sender. I have heard a couple of horror stories on elises.com about brass tee pieces breaking due to engine vibration resulting all the oil being lost. Does anyone here with a 240 know how/where Lotus plumb in the feed from the Accusump?
on the 240R it is connected into the oil cooler piping by a T piece. I’ve got scans of the pages from the 240R handbook if anyone would like the emailed… they are a bit big for posting…

I’d be be very interested to see those - if you could email them to me at [email protected] that would be great.
