Accusump Gremlin

Greetings,

Just done an oil change on the 2-11 and found that my accusump wouldn’t discharge when the ignition is switched on. I had to manually whack 12v into the valve to make it unload the stored oil into the engine.

According to the manual the Accusump should discharge its oil when the ignition is switched prior to start up and show around 15psi on the gauge.

The valve obviously works but I’m worried the pressure sensor is broken. With the engine off it should sense zero oil pressure and tell the valve to open.

Anyone had a similar problem or had to replace the sensor?

oh the horror, yes I did. The pressure sensor is a piece of junk. You either uninstall the whole Accusump and fit a baffled oil pan instead or you upgrade the sensor to an expensive better one . I’d suggest the latter.

the problem is, that with a faulty Accusump you either have too few oil in the system or too much… Both cases are equally bad.

Or just add +10 mm extra oil in the sump and lose all the stress of oil leaks from a baffled pan and reliability issues with accusump ?

Joel buddy how are you
