About to buy an Exige

Hi,

I am a newbie who is looking to go from an RX-8 to a 2004 Exige S2. Any common problems or faults I should look for when I go see one? Drove one recently and it was a pure drivers car which I loved! I would prefer a black/orange but I have seen a cheap and well equipped yellow one, not sure about the colour tho…anyone here got a yellow Exige they would like to show off?

If you intend to track it look for one with a performance pack

Hi have just bought a band new yellow exige 2 pick it up friday, wow! comes with tour and sport packs. bit of a change from my elise s1 135 sort though. cant wait.

Get some pics of it posted when you get it!

I am also from Edinburgh Jamie, never seen a red Exige about, only an orange one

It lives at Knock Hill most of the time

Welcome Waz, Theres a few of us about!
Go for it, a move you could never regret!
If you need convincing come along to the sidc day on the 7th of october for some pax laps!
ps IMHO id buy privately!! cheers ed

I had advertised my yellow one at 23k,maybe it was mine you saw? I am in Glasgow. Could be swayed to sell it…

I loved the look of the bright colours which is why I got yellow. It was that or orange but I didnt fancy owning an orange car in Glasgow…

Will post some pictures hoefully this weekend if weather good. Looking for any advice on track days owning one of these cars that anyone may have as a exige virgin currently.

The starter button looks ace Chris:

Is this from an S2k per chance ?

David

Yeah got the button from the local honda dealer and installed it where there was a blanking plate. It fitted in the whole almost exactly.

I hate cars with blanking plates, it makes me feel like i didn’t have every option !! lol

Sorry to hijack the thread, but do you have a wiring diagram for the your starter button as with you I hate blanked off holes.

Thanks in advance.

Peapod

Installed a while back.

If i remember correctly there are 4 pins on the bottom of the button as the words light up.

A relay near the ignition and then 4 core cable to the button.

higher current cable to the relay then quite thin cable to the button.

quite simple really if you are going to do it, i can take the cover off the steering wheel column and tell you which colour wires are the ones to connect to.

Chris

If its not to much trouble Chris, it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Peapod
