Not sure what difference it will make, but I only noticed when they put the rears tyres on that they were M compound rather than LTS, is there anything I need to watch, tyre pressures? grip level etc?
Ta
Harder sidewall.
More grip.
Wear quicker.
I would also be very interested in replies to this. I am told by a specialist that the M tyre is specifically built and biased for track work with extra stiff side walls so that tyre can be run on track with lower pressures. I was also told the LTS is a Lotus specific tyre for more all round use including track but with a different compound and softer side walls. Does anyone have any experience with the two types?
Thanks
Amit
You have to be a Racing God to notice the difference…I’m not & I couldn’t.
Either way, Toyo 888s are the way to go
ok so het pressures similar to normal of 25psi and watch for them wearing even quicker, never thought that would be possible…
What do you like about the Toyo888s?
Plenty of discussion on here if you search, but briefly performance (equivalent to 48s), fronts don’t develop horrific out of balance at 80mph+ (as 48s often do), & finally cost/availability.
Thanks. Might go for the Toyo’s now
I prefer the M compound over the LTS. Yes it might not wear as well as the LTS, but by then the tyres have had enough heat cycles anyway and are well past their best.
Wondering why you didn’t realise till they were on the car. They should have been cheaper than LTS so if you paid the full LTS price you’ve been done.
did not look at them before they were put on the car, I got them 2nd hand so just presumed, I think whichever way they were the right price for their condition. Just really wanted to know what difference to expect, I only got them to go to spa and finish off the fronts then it is R888s all the way for me
