888’s all day long for me now, last long and better in the wet
Couple of long threads on here on this subject
My summarised take having used both tyres back to back
R888’s - better wear rates, better in the wet, cheaper
A048’s - sharper turn in, lighter weight, better ultimate grip
Depends on what you want from them. Track use: 48s all day long. For a good all-rounder 888s.
I’ve gone from the 48s to the 888s as they were cheaper and do NOT like them on track at all. Will not scrimp in the future.
people quote cost but just what is the actual saving on a full set when related back to mileage - 2p or 3p per mile?
