A048s.. special prices for Exiges.com users

Those nice folks at BookaTrack have a special deal for Exige.com users…

They’re offering a set of A048s for 540 per set including VAT + trackday fitting ( need a new set on the 27th Feb ?)

(Their usual price is 606 so more than 10% off)

Thanks for the info…you wouldn’t know if they are LTS? Could do with a set…maybe stop the steering wobble around 85mph

My dealer told me they all did that due to the thread of the tyre. Not sure at all about this, would love to know.

The 48s can indeed be very, very difficult to balance.

I’ve gone onto Toyo R888s, & will be staying with them for the foreseeable future - I can’t tell the difference in performance to the Yokos, they are a lot cheaper, & they are no problem to balance

I ve noticed that too and kept thinking my wheels were inbalanced.

lol we’ve been here before… … I’ll stick with my previous decision of buying a full set of Toyo’s!

I just ordered another set of 48R’s yesterday from Camskill, 452 delivered, but I have smaller wheels so cheaper than yours.

Shouldn’t you be spending the OAP’s heating allowance on other things?

Lads, I have exactly this slight (very slight) wobble at 85-90mph and have changed pressures etc, all to no avail.

The other thing I have is a “worn bearing” type of noise between 30 and 45mph, which the dealer acknowledges is there, but after checking the bearings has concluded is down to “tyre noise”?

Could this be another anomoly of the Yoko’s do you think?

It’s not a a huge problem, but I would hate to think I am getting another dose of Lotus TADTS BS!!

I think the noise between 30 and 45 mph is unlikely to be tyre noise, never suffered from this myself. Is the noise coming from the front or rear?

Mines between 80-100, quite the range don’t you know! doesn’t really effect performance though Toyo’s are my first fix, someone told me to loosen and tighten the engine mounts whist running?

Definately from the rear - O/S I am sure as well.

It isn’t major league and is drowned by the lowest of radio settings, but is there all the same.

At least the complaint is logged into the system and my warranty runs until August, so if I keep on hammering the car, any problems should show up soon enough?

Difficult to say without being in the car i guess. Is this problem only on S cars?

I get a slight noise/vibration around 30mph. Thought it was a bearing on the way out, but turned out to be the tyres due to the semi-slick pattern used on the R888s.

Their website says that they are indeed LTS’s…

Does anyone know if they offer a discount for 2 rears only??

…I dont need a full set at the moment…

Just got a brand new set in NZ for about 400 pounds!

They usually cost about 800 (at the current exchange rate) but I found someone who had a brand new set he had no use for as he’d switched to Dunlops for sprinting as they’ve supposedly got better performance from cold… SWEET!
