the joy of forums, and the thing i like about exiges.com is the nice open debate, no “your wrong stupid” comments, just share experiences…and a bit of piss taking.
my 2p’s worth is having done oulton park on o48’s front and back and then again with 888’s on rear only (my continued current set up) is that the 888’s were a bit more progressive on the limit of grip (or more likely my ability to drive/manage it) and i enjoyed that more than the slightly more on/off nature of the 048’s. i really couldnt tell a huge difference in cornering speeds etc , but i imagine the 048’s hold on a bit longer/ faster speed.
however for me its the pleasure of finding my limit and how to act / react to the car rather than outright speeed / lap times.
having just fitted some ohlins i will run there again this summer and see how they change things, invariably i tend to find i have understeer on turn in rather than lack of rear end grip, hence keeping the 048’s up front, but if the suspension helps i’ll try 888’s up front too and get rid of that damn “wheel wobble”
any commets (other than drive faster you wus )very welcome
I agree with above about 888’s feeling more progressive, less of an on/off nature and to be honest unless your racing or trying to beat lap times, it’s 888’s for me because they last longer and for a negligible performance difference just my 2p
Well I did consider myself well read when it came to things Lotus, but now you have shattered that fallacy at the same time as helping to educate me thanks there’s some interesting info on their website.
